Kelcey Gurtler helps Elmwood Villagers see local vegetables differently at the Farm Shop

Around the corner from Kuni’s and The Place, the Farm Shop has offered Elmwood Villagers a portal into the world of food, drink, and more singular made-by-hand Western New York goods for a decade.

The first Butter Block croissants were sold there, at 221B Lexington Ave. (entrance on Ashland). Today, Kelcey Gurtler is the proprietor, and “hype woman for everything local.”

Among other topics, we’ll talk about challenges facing local producers trying to reach customers, and the Farm Shop’s role in supporting Western New York’s fledgling food startups.

Here’s the link to join the show, at 10 a.m. Monday Feb. 19.
